The 3-day Regional Training Workshop on Development and Assessment of Investigatory Projects with Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and New Systems was conducted on October 29-31, 2020 via online platform. The participants were the selected Science and Mathematics teachers of the eleven (11) School’s Division Offices of the Department of Education in Region XI. The workshop was realized for teacher-participants to gain skills on developing Science Investigatory Projects with Robotics integration; to create a culture of research in the respective schools of assignment; and, to provide right instruction in the process of developing Science Investigatory Project.

The training workshop was steered by the head officials of the Department of Education Region XI – Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO IV – Regional Director, Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO IV – Assistant Regional Director, Mary Jeanne B. Aldeguer, EdD – Chief of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) through Maria Liza I. Berandoy, EdD and Renato C. Pacpakin, EdD – Regional Education Program Supervisors of Science and Mathematics.

The said activity was mainly facilitated by the founder of Pinoy Robot Games – Sir Melvin R. Matulac where he introduced worthwhile insights regarding the trends of Robotics and Intelligent Machines (RIM), and Science Innovation. His facilitation ended with workshops on problem sensing and design thinking anchored on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals where the participants received feedbacks during the breakout sessions.

The department is grateful of this opportunity as it serves as a takeoff plight for its endeavor in cultivating Science research culture. With this, the DepEd RO XI is anticipating for more Science researches on Robotics and Intelligent Machines (RIM), and Science Innovation with distinct recognition in the International arena.
